Dick-or-Treat 2025

It's almost that time again!

2025 has just gotten started, and it's already been an extremely tumultuous year for a lot of us. In that vein, Mod Pornygon and I have been discussing changing things up a little bit, so I'm here to solicit your input.

One of the most consistent pieces of feedback I've gotten over the years is that the name 'Dick-or-Treat' is very confusing to a lot of potential participants. It doesn't communicate the inclusivity we intended for the event, and so we're open to changing it. We're just struggling with what to change it to.

If anyone has any ideas, we'd love to hear them! We're looking for something that reflects the Pokemon move-based name structure, and that it's a smut event open to all pairing types. It's been a challenge to find something that achieves both without also sounding like it's an event intended for the Pokemon fandom only. Mod Pornygon and I like the name 'Sextrasensory Fest' (based on the move Extrasensory!), but we wanted to get feedback from all of you to see what you think.

Aw, I personally really like the current name and think it's a fun one. It's such a shame to change it especially since that means the collection name will have to change among other things, but will look forward to see how things would be like!

I'm really happy to hear that you like the current name! I've always been fond of it too. But I can also understand why it's led several people to believe that the event only allows M/M -- or in some cases that it's a fest dedicated to Dick Grayson. We're hoping that with a more accurate name, more people will feel welcome to participate!

More seriously, something involving 'title', 'move', or 'sexy'/a non-gender-specific sexy word sound best to me. (I also like the current name, but I can see all the criticisms too.)

I’ll participate no matter what it’s called. I’m fine with the current name — I was never confused about the scope of the smut allowed, because it’s made clear in the FAQs. I initially thought one had to know Pokémon to play but I eventually figured out that wasn’t true.

I have no problem with Sextrasensory Fest, but some might assume it’s limited to smut in the context of ESP or superpowers.

I like the current name, although I can see why it's a bit confusing (even just from the "Trick or Treat? In April??" point of view XD).

My suggestion for a name would be to have something generic that lightly references the Pokemon badges/achievement structure, maybe? Like:

Smut Gym
Smut Gym Challenge
Smut Gym Trainers
Smut League

It's Super Ef-fuck-tive! - A Multifandom Smut Fest

Or slight variation on peasina's:

Make Some Moves - A Pokemon-move-themed Multifandom Smut Fest

Or I don't know if this works, but since "Pound" is the first move on the list and a pretty good illustration of the suggestiveness of Pokemon move names, maybe you could name it that, like, "Pound: A multifandom smut fest" or something. And use "poundfest" or "poundsmutfest" if you need a longer and less generic name than just "Pound."
